Q. A customers 2014 Peugeot 308 2,0 Diesel is suffering from an intermittent illumination of the engine warning lamp with trouble code P0495 stored. We have checked the engine coolant blower motor control module and the blower motor itself but can’t find any fault. Can you help?

A. This problem not only affects the 2,0 Diesel model but also the 1,6 Diesel model 308. The cause of the problem is overheating of the engine coolant blower motor control module, located in engine coolant blower motor cowling, due to lack of air flow.

Remove the engine coolant blower motor and engine coolant blower motor control module. Drill four 8 mm holes in the blower motor cowling Fig1.1 to allow cooling air to circulate. Erase the trouble code and road test the vehicle to confirm the fault is fixed.
