Final month to complete compulsory MOT Annual Training for 2017/18
There is only a month remaining for MOT testers to complete their mandatory Annual Training and assessment. This must be completed by 31st March, and any testers who have not completed this training will not be allowed to continue testing vehicles, as per the DVSA’s requirements.
The DVSA have started: “it is your responsibility to complete the training each year to avoid disciplinary consequences” and “you can lose your MOT tester status if you don’t take training and pass an annual assessment between 1 April and 31 March each year.”
If you have already bought access to the online assessment but haven’t taken the test yet, please remember do this before March 31st, leaving time for re-takes if necessary.
If you still need to complete you training, the RMI has plenty of last minute options available. Here is our current availability for each package:
Our annual training workbooks are a popular, cost-effective option as they allow you to train in your own time. The workbook contains login details for the online assessment, and there is also a form to sign within the book to record your training and keep on file. This option is also available for class 1 and 2 vehicles (motorcycles).
We allow 7-10 days for workbooks to arrive via post and you will need time to take the training and assessment, so please order as soon as possible.
Workbooks are £45 + VAT, and you can order as many as you need by calling us on 0845 305 4230.
The RMI Academies are continuing to hold annual training classroom sessions until March 29th. You’ll be able to complete both the training and assessment in one day, as a convenient last-minute option. Places must be booked at least one day in advance of the course date.
To book a place, please call us on 0845 305 4230.
This package costs £75 + VAT and includes a training session, an RMI workbook, access to the online assessment and tea/coffee. .
The RMI has been touring the country for testers who prefer face-to-face training in their local area and we still have regional training events taking place across the UK.
The three-hour training session covers the 2017/2018 MOT annual training syllabus; however, the online assessment will then need to be completed in your own time.
Due to popular demand, we have added a Chippenham training event to help testers in the surrounding area complete their training in a face-to-face environment. Here are the remaining dates and locations:
Click on the event you’d like to attend to book tickets. Tickets cost £70 + VAT, and places are strictly limited to 40 per event.
Doors will open at 09:30am, and the events will last from 10:00am until 1:00pm.
The RMI has launched a new e-learning package for class 4 & 7 vehicles, built from the ground up. It’s tailor-made to be straightforward to use and contains everything required by DVSA in one place. The platform contains knowledge tests as well as training documents, and allows you to keep a record of your training online.
For a limited time only, this package is being offered at the same price as workbooks to members, at £45 + VAT. The price includes access to e-learning and the online assessment. The RMI’s original e-learning package is still available for class 1 and 2 vehicles at £60 + VAT.
For more information, or to book the e-learning course, please call us on 0845 305 4230.
Our MOT QC field team can deliver annual training at your premises for up to 6 testers at a time. Due to the popularity of this training package, we only have strictly limited availability in the M4 corridor and East Anglia. To book this option please call the Member Helpline at your earliest convenience to secure your training date.
If this is your preferred option, you can register your interest for the 2018/19 training period now by calling 0845 305 4230.
