Garage wanted for Counterfeit Car Parts Campaign

Garage wanted for Counterfeit Car Parts Campaign

30 April 2018

The IGA is working with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) to build consumer awareness around counterfeit car parts with a new campaign this summer, and we are looking for a member’s premises to use as a filming location for a video on the topic.

The video will be aimed at consumers and your garage’s name can be displayed if you wish, creating a perfect local marketing opportunity for your business.

Garages located in Bristol or South Wales are preferred, but even if you are based elsewhere please put your name forward if you’re interested by calling the member helpline or emailing enquiries@rmif.co.uk.

The campaign will be focusing on how to identify counterfeit parts and the direct safety implications of using them in vehicles, including the dangers of buying them in order to ask a garage to fit them. Information will be available on the ICO website when the campaign launches, and a poster will be created for garages to display on their premises surrounding the issue.

If you are concerned about counterfeit or consumer supplied car parts, please contact the IGA member helpline on 0845 305 4230.
