Help your Customers to Budget for Car Costs with the IGA’s Car Repair Plan

31 May 2017

If your garage is looking for a great way to promote your business and help your customers, the Car Repair Plan is here to help you.

The IGA set up the Car Repair Plan as a way for consumers to save money each month to save for regular car maintenance or unexpected repairs. The system is simple, secure and was specifically built for independent garages, and there are over 600 garages signed up so far.

Customers are set up with their own, completely secure account and they can add as many cars or family members as they like. They can add as much or as little money into their account per month as they like to build into a fund that lets them “Shield Themselves From Unexpected Repair Costs”.

Then, when they take their car to a member that accepts the Car Repair Plan, the funds can be used to pay or part-pay for the work completed – it’s as simple as that!

Here’s a quick breakdown of how the Car Repair Plan works:

1. Customer books car in and confirms payment or part payment by Car Repair Plan

2. Garage checks and reserves amount

3. Customer signs invoice on collection

4. Email confirmation to customer

5. Funds sent to garage weekly

The best thing about the Car Repair Plan is that by keeping it simple we keep the costs down.
It has low transaction charges and the only fixed cost you will ever receive is the annual £1 fee. This nominal fee is required to keep your Direct Debit mandate “alive” to allow you to receive the customer’s money when they use the Car Repair Plan. If you’re a current member you will have received an email notification about this on 25th May and your £1 will be taken on 15th June.
