IGA Member ACC UK wins Independent Garage of the Year

30 July 2015

The Motor Trader Industry Awards highlight best practises within the retail motor industry and celebrates top achievers in the sector, and are one of the most prestigious awards in the motor trade. This year was the 25th anniversary of the awards, which took place on 8th July at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The audience were treated to a night of entertainment, pyrotechnics and celebrations, and the highlight of the night came when F1 legend Sir Stirling Moss presented an award and received a standing ovation.

The IGA sponsored the hotly contested Independent Garage of the Year award. A number of our members were finalists so competition was fierce. The award was the second of the evening so the nominees didn’t have long to wait, and the winner was announced as ACC UK from Farnborough.

ACC UK released a statement about their achievement, saying: “ACC UK Ltd Independent Volvo & Toyota Servicing, Repair & MOT Specialists, based in Farnborough, Hampshire were thrilled to find out that yet again there were finalists in the category of Independent Garage of The Year at the Motor Trader Awards - the equivalent to the ‘Oscars’ for the motor industry. This was the third time in four years they found themselves in this position. ACC UK Ltd have built their business on the solid foundations of offering a first class customer experience and dealership service for an honest price. This foundation has seen the business grow year on year and the proof that their ethos works is the fact that 70% of their new business is from referrals of their existing customers.”

Simon Cook, Managing Director of ACC said “I am still in a state of shock to have been announced the winner of this tremendous award, the hard work, blood, sweat and tears…yes tears….that me and my entire team have experienced over the years really has paid off. I am thrilled to see Independents being recognised in the industry for the valuable work they do and the contribution they make to the motor industry as a whole. The first thing I did was text the guys who couldn’t be there on the night to let them know we had won. I’m not ashamed to admit there were some tears of pride shed that night”.

Also highly commended for the award was Anderson Clark Motor Repairs from Inverness.

Congratulations to ACC, all of our Independent Garage of the Year finalists and the winners of the evening, all who continue to raise the bar in the retail motor industry.
