Introducing the Trust My Garage £1,000 Guarantee

The Trust My Garage £1,000 Guarantee launches today! But what does this mean, and how does it work?

As a member of Trading Standards approved consumer code, Trust My Garage, you have the benefit of an independent dispute resolution provider, the National Conciliation Service (NCS). This provides reassurance to your customers that in the unlikely event of an unresolved dispute, there is an independent organisation to help to resolve the situation without the need to take the matter to court.

We know our members are the best garages around and the very low level of complaints that are received by NCS about TMG members supports this. We stand wholeheartedly behind our members in their delivery of quality and value to consumers and we’re prepared to back this up financially with the Trust My Garage £1,000 Guarantee.

Where the NCS upholds a customer complaint following arbitration, the IGA will guarantee the payment of any financial award (up to £1,000) if you are unable to make the payment.

This provides a powerful message to your customers - that you belong to a long established trade body that stands behind its members, and supports independent garages in providing the very best customer service to consumers.

The full complaints procedure consumers must follow in the event of an unresolved dispute is outlined in the Trust My Garage Code of Practice (Appendix 2). Consumers will be able to find this at www.TRUSTMYGARAGE.co.uk.

The scheme aims to show confidence that our members are the best independent garages in the UK, and to continue to improve the public perception of the independent garage sector as a whole.
