Member Events - July 2017
This year we are continuing to bring you a brand-new presentation to our member events across the country, which members have called “the best IGA event to date”.
We’ll be counting down the top 20 pieces of essential information and advice that garages need to be aware of to run their business effectively, avoid the latest scams and keep on top of new legislation. Discover how your membership lets you benefit from our experience to minimise the risks to your garage business, and ensure you’re thriving in an ever-changing, increasingly complex industry.
As in previous years, the DVSA will also be joining us at our member events to discuss annual training, the MOT system and more.
Here’s where the events are taking place:
Doors will open at 9:30am and presentations will start promptly at 10:00am. Tea, coffee and a buffet lunch will also be provided, and after the event you’ll get the chance to talk to both the IGA team and DVSA and ask your questions.
All of our member events are free to attend, however you will need to book tickets in advance as places are strictly limited to 100 per event. Simply click on the event you would like to book your place (up to 3 per member).
This year’s Automechanika Birmingham, held at the NEC on 6th-8th June, has been hailed as a resounding success for Independent Garages.
The event, which was over 70% bigger than in 2016, hosted over 800 of the very best suppliers to the UK aftermarket to deliver a hugely successful exhibition in its second year. The UK automotive trade event welcomed over 12000 visitors including motor factors, workshops, retailers, dealerships, vehicle manufacturers, tier 1 and 2 manufacturers, who had opportunities to learn, discover and network.
As well as this, the brand-new Automechanika and GarageWire Garage of the Year Award winner was announced, with victory going to IGA and Trust My Garage members MotorServ-UK, of Solihull. Kamran Saleem, Director of Motorserv-UK Solihull said: “We are thrilled to be the winners of Garage of the Year! We are always striving for excellence by investing heavily in training, keeping up to date with future innovations and improving our internal management systems. Thank you to all those who voted for us, we are so happy that we are able to deliver a valued service to our customers and this award is just another step in the right direction for us.”
Automechanika is set to return to Birmingham next year on 5-7 June 2018, and will deliver a newly improved layout for aftermarket suppliers in Halls 19 & 20 and a dedicated Workshop Quarter in Hall 18, to welcome exhibitors looking to meet garage owners and technicians.
