The Trust My Garage television advert will continue to play across the nation’s screens in 2020, encouraging motorists to visit the TMG website to find a trustworthy garage near them.

Promoting your TMG membership

New CTSI marketing tools

The Trust My Garage Code of Practice is Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) approved, so consumers can be confident that TMG members have a proven commitment to honest business, higher customer standards and ADR protection.

CTSI have published new marketing materials to help you explain to your customers how being part of the code benefits them.

Their ‘Look for the Logo’ campaign explains to consumers why they should check that businesses are part of an approved code before using them. Watch one of their new videos below, and click here to see them all on YouTube, where you can share them on your website or social media.

Your TMG website profile

Take a few minutes to make sure your garage profile and services list are up-to-date on the TMG website to take full advantage of this opportunity.

To do this, click here to log in to the TMG website (using the same details you use for the IGA website). Once logged in you will be on your Garage Account page where can update you garage address, contact details , opening hours and description, plus photos of your garage, your location on the TMG map, and services that you offer. Consumers can filter their search results by service, so it is beneficial to keep your services updated. If you’d like to add a service that’s not currently available, please get in touch via the member helpline.

Why join Trust My Garage?

Trust My Garage is included as part of your membership, and does not charge members or consumers - it’s a Code of Practice for independent garages and a benefit of IGA membership that does not “skim”.

Trust My Garage Code of Practice is CTSI approved, which helps you advertise your business as one that consumers can trust. It will give your customers confidence that you are complying with the high standards set by the code, and will give them extra protection beyond their normal consumer rights such as a robust complaints procedure and clear contractual information.

All current TMG members must have the joint TMG/CTSI logo prominently displayed on their website as part of CTSI’s brand guidelines. You can download the logos from the members area by clicking here, and you can read the guidelines in full here.
