Last month’s bulletin announced further academy openings in the North and South of the UK. Feedback has been well received and we are busy establishing the locations.
In the meantime, the current RMI Academy of Automotive Skills in Warwickshire is centrally based to reach as many members as possible. It offers a full suite of training courses for all your MOT needs and there are a variety of dates available. See the article below for upcoming course dates.
We are now half way through the 2016/2017 compulsory annual training period for MOT testers. If you haven’t yet organised yours or you’re not sure how the process works, call us and we’ll guide you through the options.
I am also pleased to announce that in the coming months Trust My Garage will be promoting to consumers that any work a Trust My Garage member carries out will be covered by a £1000 guarantee. Of course, this is subject to all the terms and conditions of the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) provision which is included as part of your membership. This adds yet another reason for consumers to choose a TMG member.
On to lobbying; we are not sure the 4 year MOT issue has gone away and to continue to bolster our defences, we are planning to meet Drew Hendry MP, SNP Shadow Transport Secretary, to discuss the survey carried out showing that 91% of garages have seen an increase in consumers forgetting to MOT their car since the latest changes to road tax.
Finally, we are considering creating a new MOT QC scheme for single NTs, but would like to know how many of you would be interested in this new service. You can read more about the proposed scheme in the bulletin below, and please remember to complete the survey at the end so we can gauge your interest.
As always, please keep in touch through the member helpline number on 0845 305 4230.
