Job Title: Administrator – RMI Academy of Automotive Skills

Reporting to: Field Services Manager

Location: Runcorn, Cheshire

Salary: £18,000

The Person and the role

The Administrator role serves as the first point of contact to candidates and trainers providing support to the RMI Academy of Automotive Skills.

The role will provide an efficient and effective administrative support to the academy and staff within it. This will involve manning a reception; welcoming candidates to the Academy and conducting various administrative checks, addressing course queries, supporting Trainers and data entry and input onto a management system. The role also maintains stationery, the general tidiness of the candidate area, organising lunches and paperwork stock levels.

This role handles sensitive data and the ability to work confidentially and professional at all times is required. The role will also support other associations as and when required, IGA (Independent Garage Association), RMISC (Retail Motor Industry Standards and Certification)

The core duties of this role are varied and would suit an individual with a professional and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to prioritise workload and portray a great team ethic.

Accountabilities and Main responsibilities of the role

  • Working to tight timescales
  • Ensuring all documentation is completing correctly in accordance with procedure
  • Liaise in a professional manner with external and internal customers using the most appropriate medium e.g. telephone, email, letter.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all members and candidates
  • Follow protocols and guidelines to ensure client service standards are met in accordance with Service Level Agreements and client Key Performance Indicators
  • Adhere to quality standards
  • Ensure effective use of internal technology
  • Achieve defined output targets (where applicable)
  • Allocate practical assessments to the Trainers
  • Schedule the Trainers for the courses at the Academy
  • Ensure workshop equipment is securely kept with regular stock checks

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level, literate and articulate (ideally C and above in Maths and English)
  • Ability to communicate and work closely at a high level with a wide variety of audiences
  • A ‘can do’, proactive attitude
  • Great organisation skills
  • Numerate with a good attention to detail
  • Self-starter with strong ability to execute assigned tasks
  • Organise and maintain files and records and retrieve information as and when required
  • Oversee accuracy of paper data and check accuracy of data provided
  • Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and internet use
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Manage and prioritise workflow
  • Operate within own area of accountability, escalating issues and seeking guidance when required
  • Commit to own personal development
  • 100% time keeping and reliability

Desirable

  • Experience of the automotive trade
  • Experience of working in a training environment
  • A-Level or Level 3 equivalent qualification
  • Ability to be adaptive
  • Ability to analyse information
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

Role Information

  • £18,000 (with the ability to rise to £20,000)
  • Permanent full-time role
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.30am – 5.00pm)
