Head of Member Services
Terry Gibson is Head of Member Services at the IGA and is part of the Senior Management Team.
He is responsible for all aspects of IGA membership with a particular focus on Member Events, Trust My Garage and the Car Repair Plan, Access to technical information including Digital Service Records. He also represents the IGA on a number of industry groups including the Apprentice Trailblazer project board.
Terry has worked in the motor industry for over 30 years spending the first 15 of them at the AA where he rose from being a Patrol on a motorcycle in London to Head of Technical Information when he left in 2001.
After a stint running the workshops of an independent classic car restorer in central London specialising in Aston Martins, he joined Retainagroup where he became an expert in the security marking of vehicle and components – including catalytic converters as well as identification of cloned vehicles and the analysis of theft and recovery patterns using the Police National Computer.
He has been with the IGA since 2012 and is a keen motorcyclist and photographer.
Not a lot of people know that – he appears in the 1988 film Just Ask For Diamond based on the Anthony Horowitz book The Falcons Malteser.
