Anderson Clark wins Independent Garage of the Year
The 2016 Motor Trader Industry Awards took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 13th July. Over 1,100 of the industry’s finest gathered to celebrate and reward excellence within the thriving retail motor sector, and the IGA were thrilled to be there to support all of our members who were shortlisted for awards.
The prestigious Independent Garage of the Year award was sponsored by Trust My Garage, and the shortlisted finalists were ACC UK, Anderson Clark Motor Repairs, Collison Motoring Service, Motor Marque and Russell Automotive Centre.
Who would win was anyone’s guess, with many of this year’s shortlisted garages either winning or being shortlisted for the category in previous years, but the winner emerged as Anderson Clark Motor Repairs.
Graham Clark, owner of Anderson Clark Motor Repairs based in Inverness, said “I am absolutely delighted that we have been awarded this Industry recognised accolade. Winning this award speaks volumes about the professionalism, dedication and customer care philosophy by the whole team. We are competing daily with franchise dealers without the expense associated with them. Well run independent garages have a real future in the Motor Industry.”
Two of our members were also highly commended for the award: Motor Marque, based in Leeds, and Russell Automotive Centre (who won Independent Garage of the Year in 2014), from London.
Congratulations to Anderson Clark, all of our Independent Garage of the Year finalists and all the winners of the evening, who all continue to raise the bar in the retail motor industry.
Submitting entries for the Motor Trader awards is free, and applications usually open in March.
