Trust My Garage - CTSI Guidelines Reminder

Trust My Garage - CTSI Guidelines Reminder

26 February 2016

The Trust My Garage Code of Practice became a Chartered Trading Standards (CTSI) Approved Code back in November 2015.

Now that the scheme is backed by CTSI, if you’re a member of TMG your businesses needs to display the correct logos. This verifies you as a member of the code scheme and also advertises Trust My Garage to your customers.

CTSI have some basic guidelines that must be followed - non-adherence to the guidelines may result in CTSI terminating the right of Trust My Garage and/or the member to use the logo and possibly withdrawal of code approval. Make sure you follow the guide below, and call the member helpline on 0845 305 4230 if you would like us to double check anything you have created.

Logo Guidelines

The main guideline to remember is that the CTSI Approved Code logo must always be placed next to the Trust My Garage logo.

The logos above have been approved by CTSI and are safe to use on any of your business documentation or advertising, but not directly on your website (see next section). They can be downloaded from the member’s area of the IGA website here.

Please use these images in their original form: do not change the colour, distort or change the shape of the logo or add any effects. Click here to download the CTSI Approved Code Brand Guidelines to see the full list.

If you need the logos in a different format or need further clarification, please call the member helpline on 0845 305 4230.

The one exception to the rule above is when using the CTSI Approved Code logo on your website. You must use Yoshki Accreditation ‘Click to Verify’ technology, which validates your code scheme membership when a website visitor clicks on the logo.

Using an image version of the logo online reduces the value of the CTSI brand, and consumers are only educated to look for the ‘Click to Verify’ version online.

Adding the ‘Click to Verify’ logo is a simple process of copying and pasting three lines of HTML code into your website. The basic guide is provided in the CTSI Approved Code Brand Guidelines, and you can visit the Yoshki website here for troubleshooting and an FAQ.

You do not need to use the ‘Click to Verify’ logo for other online uses, such as downloadable documents and social media. You can use the downloadable logos.

Everything else

The CTSI Approved Code Brand Guidelines contain short guides on how to place the logo on letterheads and business cards. Please use the downloadable logos we have provided for these, and in any other paper documentation such as invoices.

If you have any further questions or need clarification, call the IGA member helpline on 0845 305 4230.

Being part of a CTSI-backed code is a huge boost to your IGA membership, so if you’re not a Trust My Garage member yet call our member helpline on 0845 305 4230 to find out more.
