I am delighted to announce that the IGA will be the headline sponsor of the Workshop Magazine Awards this year to give independent garages the recognition they deserve. Awards for workshops of all shapes and sizes will be up for grabs, including regional Independent Garage of the Year categories, and we will let you know when entries are open.
If you haven’t completed and recorded your MOT annual training as of today, you must stop testing in accordance with Special Notice 01-2017. At the moment you are still able to take the 2016/17 annual assessment to start testing again, but please call us on 0845 305 4230 for the latest information or to book a training and assessment package.
We can now confirm that the topics for 2017/18 annual training syllabus for class 4 and 7 are ‘Corrosion Assessment’, and ‘Assessment of Wheels and Tyres’. The pass mark for the annual assessment has increased to 60%, and will also include questions from the previous year’s topics. We are working with DVSA to update our study materials and training packages, so look out for more information soon.
We now begun developing the new RMI Academy in Runcorn, Cheshire. The training centre will offer MOT training for every level in a tester’s career, including annual training, to meet all your training needs. We will be releasing the course calendar soon so you can book your preferred dates ahead of its launch this summer.
Lastly, don’t forget the MOT 4-1-1 consultation ends on 16th April. Please submit your responses or contact your MP to make them aware of your views. Please keep an eye on the ‘Be Awares’ section in this bulletin, it’s there to support you and your business.
