I am pleased to inform you that due to industry demand, we are planning to open two additional training centres in the North and the South of the UK, to compliment the RMI Academy of Automotive Skills in the Midlands. These will be predominantly set up for MOT related training, with other types of training considered as and when demand requires.
Last week we met with UKAS to discuss the EU Security Standard (SERMI), and what we need to do to take it forward now that it has been officially signed off. With the final part of the jigsaw still needing to be set up, being the Trust Centre, we are looking at an interim solution for the UK which will, in practice, pre-register garage’s businesses against the Standard. When the final part is completed, it will be a reasonably simple process to finalise the accreditation.
The 4-year MOT consultation has gone very quiet, and DfT’s response is that it’s been delayed. Due to so many new ministerial posts we are unsure not just when, but if, the consultation will be released. We will let you know when we have further information.
Our RMI annual training workbooks are the most convenient way for testers to take their three hours of training and pass the online assessment. Remember that it is now mandatory for all MOT testers to complete their annual training by March 31st every year. If you’re not sure where to begin, give us a call and we will guide you through the process.
