The RMI Academy of Automotive Skills was officially opened by Jeremy Wright MP on the 6th May. It is now open for business as a one-stop shop for MOT training, delivering a suite of courses focusing on MOT testers. DVSA announced in their latest MOT Special Notice 06-16 that they are bringing their NTT and MOT manager courses to an end as part of the changes to MOT training. The RMI Academy offers both New MOT Tester Training and MOT Manager (the equivalent of NTT), please give us a call on 0945 305 4230 for further information.
We are aware that two DfT consultations are now imminent and will potentially be arriving in July, one being the 4-1-1 proposal which we now have reason to believe will include class 7 vans and the other being annual roadworthiness testing for classic cars. We will keep members updated when they are released.
If you haven’t responded to our survey yet on whether customers appear to be forgetting their MOT renewals, please take the time to do so now in the bulletin below. This will help us to gain the support of Drew Hendry MP for the campaign against the 4-1-1 proposal.
Don’t forget that from today you can take your MOT annual training assessment for 2016/2017. This needs to be completed by the end of March 2017, but we recommend you do it as soon as possible - with 66,000 testers across the country, you could struggle to complete it if you leave it until the last minute. The RMI offers five annual training options so you can choose a training method that best suits your business. Contact us now on 0845 305 4230 to find out more, book in your training and avoid the rush.
Finally, we have plenty of impartial information below about the upcoming EU Referendum on 23rd June. Please have a read and find out what the potential effects on your business could be whether we leave or stay in the EU.
