A number of members have contacted us with concerns about the recent price increases of refrigerant gas R134a. Recent legislation changes linked to the environment have brought about a reduction in supplies of the gas, however, to date no genuine justification for the huge price increases has been found. The article in the bulletin provides feedback from the trade bodies representing both gas and equipment suppliers. We will be investigating further and will keep you posted.

We recently announced that a study of Work Providers would be available soon, this has now been finalised and a copy will be posted to you this month. As a trade association, we are aware that garages sign up to work providers and understand why, but this should not be to the detriment of the identity, reputation or profits of the business. We have created a report on these work providers that can be used as a reference tool to understand the clear facts around their business models and working practices. We believe this will assist members when choosing who to work with.
If you have concerns or questions about any of the topics above, please don’t hesitate to call us on 0845 305 4230.
