In light of the current situation in Ukraine we are all expecting the ripples to start impacting on our everyday lives, and energy costs, fuel costs and many business costs will almost certainly increase. Last month the IGA won the Trade Association Forum’s ‘Crisis Management – Covid Member Support’ award for the guidance and resources provided to the independent sector throughout the pandemic, so whilst we all live in this new period of uncertainty I can assure you all that no matter what, the IGA will be there for the industry in its time of need.
As you may have seen in the previous bulletin, this year we will be launching a new Trust My Garage website as a competitive alternative to work provision companies. This website will include a new online booking system, so if you are a TMG member we will be contacting you soon to update information on your labour pricing and services. Our BIG Awards judging team are currently in the process of shortlisting garages so you may be contacted by one of our team, receive a site visit or be mystery shopped throughout March, depending on the category you entered. Meanwhile, our celebrity guests for the grand awards ceremony will be announced later this month. Finally, testers have until midnight on Thursday 31st March to complete their 2021/22 MOT Annual Training or they will be automatically suspended from testing. We are aware that a large number of testers have still not completed these requirements. With the assessment pass mark remaining at 80% this year, if your testers haven’t started training yet they may struggle to pass in time.
