Dear Member,

Work is progressing in our efforts to set up a solution for accessing security level technical information across a UK-wide network of independent garages that have a proven level of business integrity. If you have expressed an interest in being involved in this project you will receive a letter with further information soon, and audits are expected to begin towards the end of Q2. It’s not too late for new entrants; please call and let us know if you are interested in joining or would like more information.

Although we are starting to ease out of lockdown, the effects of COVID-19 are still being felt. The latest stats from DVSA predict that MOT volumes will be down an average of 65% in May, and 25% percent in June. You can download the data from the MOT update below to find out the statistics for your area. COVID-Secure guidelines are still in place, and the IGA has COVID-19 compliance audits available if you would like reassurance that standards haven’t slipped.

The 1st May marked the start of the 2021/22 MOT annual training year. Our brand-new e-learning platform and workbooks are now available if you would like to complete the training early, while MOT volumes are lower. Feedback has indicated that many testers struggled last year, so if you would like one of our trainers to come to you, we can arrange an on-site visit. We advise that you book this option early as dates are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Garages have been through a great deal of upheaval over the past year and whilst it has been incredibly difficult, we have seen many innovative new ideas and initiatives from members. Please send us your stories and you could feature in the next IGA Member Spotlight.

Finally, the IGA Member Events are back for 2021 from June, so you can catch up with the latest industry news, ensure you are complying with the latest legislation, and learn about topics and issues that you should have on your radar in the years to come. DVSA will also be joining us once again to discuss the latest MOT updates and answer your questions directly. Book your place below to avoid missing out; spaces are limited this year due to social distancing requirements.
